Illegal bangladeshi immigrants start secession in Assam

Pan-Islamic terrorism has gradually started taking a grip in Assam in the last couple of years. Various Muslim militant outfits, have been spawned as part of the design, posing a serious threat to the otherwise harmonious social fabric of the State in the near future. Sources said that the Pakistani Intelligence agency the Inter Service Intelligence (ISI), with the help of some fundamentalist organizations, has been indoctrinating many Muslim youths, all of whom were descendants of Bangladeshi migrants from char and other immigrant Muslim-dominated areas of Nagaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Barpeta etc., in the ideology of the Pan-Islamic movement to fight for the cause of Muslims brethren in Assam. The youths are being recruited to the MULTA, MULFA, PULF etc., who are being regularly sent to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan for arms and religious training. Even, sources said, the dreaded Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen has penetrated into Assam and has been establishing bases in char and other Muslim-dominated areas. "There are certain areas in the State, which are out of bounds for others except someone known to the militants. These are something like liberated zones," said an official. Sources said that though a large number of youths have become active members of these militant outfits, they are yet to be fully equipped with sophisticated weapons. But, sources pointed, with the backing of ISI, it is just a matter of time before they are fully equipped. Sources said, the outfits are gradually strengthening their organizations and once they start their operations, it would be very difficult to stem the rot. Sources said that even though the security agencies are fully alive to the ominous developments, due to lack of political will on the part of the Government to take appropriate steps against these anti-national forces, they are unable to move on their own, and warned that time is fast running out for them and the Government to act decisively on the issue.
